My name is Alvin L. Ashby Jr. and I have always had a penchant for creativity. For this reason I have many interests, which include: architecture, art (performing /visual), and literature. For a long time I could not conclude why I was so attracted to these subjects. I believe that their is creativity in any occupation or subject, so what drew me to architecture, art, and literature?

 

Thankfully, I now know what my attraction to these fields is and it is storytelling. Storytelling is the "common denominator" among these fields. Architecture is storytelling through a constructed space, art is storytelling through sensorial excitation, and literature is storytelling through written language.

 

My intent is to display all of my "stories" on this website. My architectural "stories" consist of academic work from Clemson University and Georgia Institute of Technology along with my professional work through internships. My art "stories" contain many examples of both visual and performing art. My Literature "stories" contain published writings and leisurely prose.
